Hearing God |
This post is for a particular set of people.
It is for people who have given their lives to Jesus Christ.
It is for people who are done living their lives the way they want and have had it with their own ways.
It is for people who now want to listen and hear what God has to say to them, about them and for them.
The decision to hear God is one of the best decisions a Christian can ever make.
It shows a surrender of self and a higher maturity in spirituality.
A Christian who finally decides that he or she wants to hear God, is someone who has had it with his or her way and has come to the harsh, bitter realization that , their own way is not getting them anywhere.
A Christian who finally decides to hear God is a Christian whose mind has been made up.
This person now means business with God and is done playing games.
A person who decides to listen..who wants to hear what God has to say, has come to realize that God is the truth and in Him, is the life he or she has always wanted.
This person has come to realize that everything he or she has been looking for, fighting for , searching for, is all embedded in the will of God.
This person is tired of the hassle and the struggle.
He or she is ready to follow.
He or she has forsaken his or her intelligence, skill or knowledge and have chosen to trust God.
This person believes that God knows him or her more than he or she will ever know...that God knows what's best for him or her.
If any of the above describes you, you might want to read a little bit closer.
So, you want to hear God.
That is a good one.
Hearing God has to do with surrender, a surrender of what you want for what God wants.
It may not be pleasant, you may not like it but if you trust God, you will keep on following.
It is very important that we really hear God clearly and hear Him specifically , not something else.
So, how do we get to hear Him?
Personally, I'd like to have God as my daily companion.
As my pal and all time buddy.
I want to hear Him as clearly as I can hear other people around me.
I've always wanted this.
I know He speaks to us through His word but I also know that He speaks to us directly.
Is there some spiritual exercise needed to be done before this is possible?
Yes, there is.
A simple prayer, pray with me:
"O God, Creator of all creation.
I love You with all my heart and I invite You to come and be my daily companion, my pal and all-time buddy.
I'm tired of my ways and my wills.
I want You to guide me from now onwards.
If I cannot hear You, how can I do Your will?
I invite You to become part and parcel of my life.
I look forward to having a life partnership with you, one like what You and Moses had.
In my heart of hearts, I wish to do Your will.. Please, make it possible and easier for me to.
Not just following Your dictation but having a good understanding of the process , reason and intent.
This , I pray, through Jesus Christ, My Lord, amen."
If you just said that prayer, congratulations..
In days to come, you will experience God in a way and manner you never had.
I look forward to it too.
God bless you as you and I have made this decision to hear Him at all times in our lives and to follow His counsel , always and everywhere.
It is well with your soul in Jesus name, amen.
