What is right in the eyes of everyone?

There are set of morals, norms and values generally accepted and practised by different societies.

Some are based on ancient wisdom and traditions, others are as a result of doctrines of different religions.

However, no matter how diverse cultural beliefs can be, there is always a convergence of ideologies.

A point where everyone agrees and stand on a common ground.

Why is this so?

This is so because all ways of living ever lived have been tested by time and circumstances.

The true ones stand true, the false ones always end up in the same way.

Virtue is that substance that is right in the eyes of everyone.

Some persons may turn a blind eye to it, others may pretend not to be aware of its radiance but like light, virtue will always shine.

Piercing through any degree of thickness of darkness, the light of virtue always stand undefeated.

Whatever that is loyal, honorable, noble, honest or proper will always be appreciated.

How can this be absolute?

The measure of what is right or wrong is based on the kind of long/short term effect it has or will have on the other person.

If an attitude, behavior, habit or character has a negative effect on another person, it can be called wrong for that person who is affected negatively by it....

If an attitude, behavior, habit or character has a positive effect on another person, it can be called right for that person who is affected positively by it...

One man's food is another man's poison.

Different kettles for different fishes.

However, there is and always will be that which is right in the eyes of everyone.

If a person aspires to be that which is right in the eyes of everyone, it may seem that the person has no strong sense of self and is only seeking approval.

Then, what makes a man civilized and what does it really mean to be social?

It means to keep our freedom of self expression within our boundaries and not encroach into another person's space, boundary or time without permission.

It means taking into account the effect of your actions on the other person.
